Hello there, gorgeous! Is it just me or is this weather suddenly so unpredictable in the DC area?! On a positive note, I'm starting to love the spring collections while I window shop ;) Spring is all about pastels, headwraps, and big statement accessories for this Afrolatina.
One of the things I'm reminded of when Spring approaches is my victory over low-self esteem as a young adult. I used to hate warm weather - well, it's still not my favorite, haha - because I wasn't comfortable in my own skin. It was too humid for my hair, my skin would break out, my arms and legs were too big for shorts or sleeveless tops, and the list goes on. Now, to say that I never still feel this way is an overstatement; however, I have learned to be comfortable in my own skin. I'm a thick Afrolatina and that means that my hair will be out of control some days, my thighs will chafe, and swimsuit shopping will be nearly impossible. But just because I'm no model doesn't mean I'm less than beautiful. We all carry a beauty within that exceeds outer appearance. When you learn to love yourself on the inside, loving the outside becomes a whole lot easier! The gift of loving yourself will produce a confidence so secure that others will naturally be attracted to you.
So this style post goes out to all my gorgeous sisters! Rock your style with confidence in your own skin because you are beautiful!
